See all communitiesBecause we believe in the safety and efficacy of the COVID vaccine and take to heart our responsibility to do all the good we can for all the people we can, we require WesleyLife team members and business partners to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of their affiliation with our organization. We also strongly encourage receipt of the influenza vaccine for all whose medical providers recommend they receive it.
The foundations on which WesleyLife was built helped shape the reasons behind our decision to require the vaccine.
Well-Being: Committing to the health, safety, and holistic well-being of those we serve is a fundamental part of who we are.
Excellence: From leading the way in infection mitigation to being among the first providers to make the vaccine available, we remain committed to the health of our residents, clients, and team.
Heritage: We have always taken to heart John Wesley’s advice to “do all the good (we) can,” and we have a history of doing the right thing for the greatest number of people.
Innovation: Relying on science to help us implement best practices around COVID transparency, we established lines of communication to help disseminate current and reliable information that assists people in making informed decisions.
Take a moment to listen to Dr. Christi Taylor, who serves as Chief Medical Officer of the McFarland Clinic in Ames, IA. In this video she addresses some of the common myths around the COVID vaccine, and shares why it's important to consider being vaccinated to protect ourselves, our families, and those we serve.
Through our WesleyLife At Home network of services, we offer assistance to older adults living outside our communities. Our services range from medical and non-medical home care to hospice care and Meals on Wheels. You can be assured our caregivers continue to follow Centers for Disease Control recommendations regarding hygiene, health, and safety.
Due to increased need for meal delivery among members of the Greater Des Moines community, we continue to seek additional volunteer drivers for WesleyLife Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels volunteers are making a real difference in our community, where 10,000+ individuals are unable to access or prepare affordable, nutritious meals. Help us combat food insecurity!
WesleyLife is committed to welcoming, serving, and employing person(s) in a safe, nondiscriminatory environment. This applies to WesleyLife directly and any contractor or other entity with which or whom we work.
